Robb Nash puts on an incredible concert. The show has music, mental health, humour and passion for life interwoven throughout. I am extremely grateful I was able to attend with my students. If you attend, you will not regret it! - School Counsellor, Surrey BC

What are school staff saying?

The Robb Nash Project is an engaging, concert experience that helps normalize mental health struggles for youth and adults alike. The whole experience creates a sense of safety as everything is so well organized and orchestrated in a way that ensures students are well looked after. This experience leaves you with the feeling that you are not alone, no matter what struggles you are facing. - Sarah Fingas, School Social Work Clinician, Shaughnessy Park School

The most important thing to me was seeing their smiles throughout the show and their deep connection to what Robb was sharing. This experience was deeply felt by all and next year we hope to bring many more students. For kids who have had more tragedy in their lives than all the adults I know, this experience was likely the most impactful/relatable than any other educational experience to date for them. We need more of this in our schools....thank-you Robb and team for talking about what matters to kids now in a way that gives them hope. - Guidance Counsellor, MB

An excellent, entertaining and engaging event.  I highly recommend high school students to see this unique presentation. - Guidance Counsellor, BC

The kids really loved all of it.....the music, the stories, the voices (humour), the guests and the water splashing (we were in the front!!). Many of my students said they felt Robb was speaking directly to them. Our kids are impacted deeply by the intergenerational trauma caused by residential schools and I think they felt less alone after attending this concert. Thank-you so much to everyone involved. I know my students will remember this experience and I believe the impact will be evident in the days to come. - Guidance Counsellor, MB

We had a student disclose that they were suicidal after watching the presentation. We were able to get the student the help they needed. - Support Teacher, MB

I would recommend any school or organization that works with children, teens, or young adults to attend this show. It will change their thinking forever. It has had a great impact on my students and I know that they will think of the messages Robb has given them! - Jennifer Negrich, Teacher, Ecole St. Adolphe School

We had the Kids Help Phone presentation when we got back and the kids were just so much more willing to share and talk about feelings than they would have been without seeing the concert. The concert made it "OK" to talk about hard things and struggle and also made it ok to ask for help when needed. - Guidance Counsellor, MB

It opened dialogue with students about mental health. It also felt so nice to see the smiles on students' faces as they got to have a concert experience. - Sarah Fingas, School Social Work Clinician, Shaughnessy Park School, Winnipeg

They were talking positively about the presentation when they returned. They were impressed with the personal stories that were shared.  There is a student in their class who has had obvious struggles in the past few years so they have seen first hand what struggles look like. I think it gave some of them hope for their classmate. - Joanne Lussier, Counsellor, École Pointe-des-Chênes

I really liked the integration of stories into the videos. We discussed it afterwards and one of the students was having a hard time putting the atmosphere into words and after much discussion we decided on, "heavy but light at the same time.

We just had a community member die by suicide and it has hit our school community hard. It was a tough presentation but the acknowledgement and discussion of suicide in this way was helpful for us. I also have several students that deal with trauma and one of them has a hard time hearing traumatic content so I checked in with her after. I said, "when he mentioned that people who have big feelings feel big feelings and I totally thought he was talking about you". She said she did too and that it made her cry, but in a good way. - Rhaena Chambers, Resource Teacher, St. Paul’s Collegiate

Had my first Robb Nash concert presentation experience and it was beyond my expectations. The teacher pre-concert material was helpful since I didn't have any prior knowledge about what it would be about. The presentation was engaging, real, and impactful. There were moments of sadness, shock, and hope. It was inspiring and the message about pain and strength really resonated. Highly recommend this to students and adults to experience.- Guidance Counsellor, BC

A great opportunity for students to reflect but also open doors that are usually shut with teens. - School Counsellor, BC

One of my students who has many intersecting factors in his life that contribute to his struggles with mental health HAS NOT STOPPED TALKING about this presentation. It impacted him so much and he is applying a lot of what Robb talked about into his understanding of his own life.

This is an innovative way to open up the lines of communication with students regarding suicide and addiction. Our students are better equipped to have difficult conversations and this program is one of the reasons why! - Kari Schiltroth, Guidance Counsellor, Pinawa Secondary

This is the first time I have experienced Robb walking through the crowd. He actually walked down my student's aisle. The fact that they received a high five from Robb Nash meant so much to them. Robb and his team have found a way to teach mental health in a meaningful, impactful way. It is not to scare them into submission, it is not gloom and grief, it is real life stories with real life endings of survival and hope. It is also stories of suicide which, in my opinion, makes it believable. Not all trauma ends with survival. Education of hope, teaching what to look for in others and recognition of symptoms in ourselves has to lead to better survival rates. We have to believe this! - Gayla Mason, Guidance Counsellor, Springfield Middle School

The Robb Nash concert was a truly meaningful and inspirational experience for the students. The feedback from the kids was that it was basically the best day they have had at school. They shared that it felt like Robb was speaking directly to them and that they left feeling less alone in their struggles than when they walked in. I really believe they left with hope. Seeing their smiles and level of engagement throughout the show was powerful for our staff...it reaffirmed for me that it's ok to talk about tough subject matter with kids when done appropriately and in a safe environment. Thank-you to Robb and team for an unforgettable morning that I know will continue to positively impact so many kids for years to come.- Guidance Counsellor, MB
